Shelby Coates

WEVV News Anchor, Executive Producer

Shelby Coates is a native of the Nashville, Tennessee area and joins the WEVV family from Spartanburg, South Carolina. There, she spent three years anchoring and producing the weekend morning newscasts at WSPA-TV. She also worked as a general assignment reporter, receiving several honors for her investigative and consumer reporting. 

Shelby says “I am passionate about empowering local communities, strengthening women and mentoring young people. I look forward to joining the volunteering spirit of the many communities of the Tri-State.”

Before coming to Indiana, Shelby also groomed her journalism skills as an anchor/reporter at WDEF-TV in Chattanooga, Tenn; WMGT-TV in Macon, Georgia; and KRBC-TV in Abilene, Texas. 

Shelby graduated from Abilene Christian University with a bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism and Mass Communication and a minor in sociology. #TheUnleashedWoman

Angie Summerlot

Founder of Angie the Auction Hunter, Founder of Indy Auction Girls, Sales & Marketing Specialist, Innovator, Monat Managing Market Builder, Entrepreneur

Angie Summerlot is a wife, mother of 3, and soon to be grandmother. She is a visionary and serial entrepreneur that has mastered generating multiple streams of income. Her ability as an engagement specialist and as a sales/marketing & branding innovator have allowed her to become a leader in multiple fields of business. She has worked to empower women as an entrepreneur, leader, educator, and public speaker. With her previous network marketing business, Angie served on both President’s Club and on the Board of Directors while growing her million-dollar team. Local newspapers and women’s magazines have featured Angie in numerous articles. After years of working in her former field and with a huge leap of faith, Angie considers her recent change of business and branding as her biggest accomplishment. As she continues to grow and embrace change in her life, she hopes that her story will inspire others on their path of building a life they love and becoming their best self. #TheUnleashedWoman

Evelyn B. Ferguson

Founder of Kin Woman Collective, Writer, Storyteller, & Soul Nurturer

Born and raised in Africa, Evelyn is an enchanting storyteller and amazing writer. Now residing in the United States, she is a diversity and spirituality facilitator. With her creativity, she uses a spiritual path to create healing spaces that inspire others to own their stories and honor their journey to authentic living.

Her work serves to promote healing, to empower, and to nurture self-love and awareness. With deep emotion and transparency, she writes about the journey of blossoming into womanhood. Often drawing from her own experiences, she is a researcher exploring the identity and the politics of belonging. Before committing to serving others, Evelyn worked in corporate America and in higher education. She is the founder and creative director of Kin Woman Collective – an online platform empowering others to live their best lives.

She is a wife, a mother, daughter, sister, and friend. She is also a graduate from the University of Southern Indiana. #TheUnleashedWoman

 Kerseclia L. Patterson

Founder of The Blues Cafe, Founder of Academy of Innovative Studies Certified Nursing Assistant Program, Community Healthcare Advocate, Mental Health Educator, & Champion for Under-served Populations

As Academic Outreach Coordinator for Southwest Indiana Area Health Education Center (SWI-AHEC), Kerseclia collaborates with regional K-12 educators, community organizations, health professionals and health care providers to enhance access to quality health care for medically-underserved and rural populations. This role gave her the unique opportunity to help launch the first-ever certified nursing assistant (CNA) program at an at-risk high school in Vanderburgh County.

Kerseclia frequently collaborates with health care professionals to help her community become more knowledgeable about issues and events related to health and wellness, including helping co-create Community Care Connection, a bi-monthly morning TV segment on WEVV-Channel 44.

In 2015, Kerseclia was one of 11 individuals from Vanderburgh and Warrick counties to complete 40 hours of Youth Mental Health First Aid instructor training as part of a regional collaboration. With an effort to build an understanding of the importance of early interventions, she is now certified to educate others of the risk factors and warning signs of a variety of mental health challenges.

Kerseclia has bachelor’s degrees in psychology and criminal justice from North Carolina Central University in Durham, North Carolina. She is currently pursuing a master’s degree in health administration at the University of Southern Indiana.

Kerseclia is a wife, mother and volunteer for many churches and community/civic activities, including serving as one of the chaplains for the Evansville Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.. #TheUnleashedWoman

Lindsey Vertner

Lindsey Vertner’s drive for excellence and success push her to be an entrepreneur with many business ventures. Lindsey’s business in the direct sales industry as a Sexual Health Educator allows her to connect with women of all backgrounds. Her goal is to keep married women married, single women safe, and all women educated.   

However, as the founder of Lindsey Vertner, LLC, she is most passionate about her work as a life and relationship coach where she utilizes her unique perspective and coaching methods to push her clients to new limits.  Lindsey is devoted to helping women live a passionate life full of purpose and balance. A major car wreck in 2007 had multiple medics pronouncing Lindsey brain dead and paralyzed. Amongst a multitude of injuries and battling to live, Lindsey acquired an amazing and rare outlook on life from this traumatic experience. She uses her gifts and her unparalleled outlook to push her clients to success. 

Lindsey is a captivating speaker. Not only does she motivate and inspire her audiences through her words, but she challenges and encourages them to lean on her and take action in that very moment. She strives to leave every person feeling better than they did before. Her bubbly personality and bright smile often precede her.

Lindsey is graduate of Indiana University with a bachelor’s in Psychology and from Liberty University with a master’s in Professional Counseling and Life Coaching. Lindsey currently resides in Indiana with her husband and two miracle children. #TheUnleashedWoman

Victoria Long

Founder of The Confessions of a Lady, Founder of Delani’s Boutique, Author of “10 Ways to Cope With Depression”, Confidence Coach, Motivational Speaker

Her life, business, and story can be likened to an excellent lifetime movie filled with all the elements needed to make it a number one seller. Drama, suspense, horror, surprise, happiness, and yes even comedy is what keeps you on the edge of your seat every time she shares her story to empower other women and children to overcome through confessing their stories. The details of her journey carries you through a range of emotions and you always leave this young lady captivated once you meet her. Victoria Long is not a victim but a “victor” of domestic violence, sexual abuse, and suicide. She is a proud mother, sister, and daughter. She is the owner of a non-profit organization called “The Confessions of a Lady” and owner of a boutique called “Delani’s”. She is now a self-published author of “10 ways to Cope with Depression” where she has taken her pain to help others overcome.

She knows that she is alive today for the sole purpose of spreading the message of Psalm 139:14 which states: “I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well” – NKJV. Through prayer and meditation, she sought the Lord for guidance in her life, and this is the scripture that God branded in her heart. From this divine intervention, she shares the message given to her by God “Your imperfections make you perfect, you are imperfectly perfect.”

Victoria is a graduate of the University of Alabama with a degree in Human Environmental Sciences. She is currently a member of the Birmingham Urban league of Young Professionals and one of the recipients of the 2017 Young Progressive Black Caucus of Alabama Women of Color and Leadership Award.

You can find Victoria hosting events for “The Confessions of a Lady” and providing designer clothing styles for her customers. She hosted her first women’s conference called” Imperfectly Perfect”, in October of 2015, her second “Imperfectly Perfect – Know Your Worth” February of 2016 and has served as a guest speaker at various events and schools. Her first Fashion Show, “Love after War”, was March of 2017. She is fully committed to the journey of helping other women that have gone through similar circumstances and embracing all things fashionably lady like. #TheUnleashedWoman
